Thesis entitled " The neurovascular pathophysiology of Raynaud's phenomenon". This involved clinically assessing 27 vibration exposed workers; on site at a British shipyard; for vibration white finger. Each subject’s cutaneous digital vascular responses to injected neuropeptides were assessed using planimetry & laser doppler flow mesurements. All subjects underwent digital cutaneous biopsy & immunostaining for neurovascular peptides. All of the above procedures were carried out on 6 patients with acrocyanosis & perniosis, 6 patients with Raynaud’s phenomenon associated with systemic sclerosis & 6 patients with primary Raynaud’s phenomenon.

The post also involved lecturing medical students, chiropodists, general practitioners & postgraduate students studying for the MRCP part II.
